When I started tracking, I took lessons and read this book. It is a great resource for the beginner and I find that I continue to consult it, as I become more experienced. Sil Sanders writes with clarity and provides many diagrams for practice tracks. As a supplement to his book, he provides Field Maps, a set of practice tracks on index cards, easy to carry in your tracking bag. For the new tracker, and especially for anyone training alone, Sil Sanders gives you a planned approach and a way to check your progress. Get this book for happy tracking!
